AUSTRALIA’S Premiere Poker Brand returns in September to Host the 2026 WPT AUSTRALIA & WPT PRIME SYDNEY across a massive 21 day schedule, slated to be the biggest 3 weeks in Star Poker History.
After The Star Poker Celebrated 15 Years of the Sydney Champs in March 2026, serious questions were raised concerning the future of the Australia’s Premiere Poker Brand following a major organizational restructure, and TODAY those questions have answers!
It was quite the tear jerker when MCT signed off on behalf of Star Poker, as the team of Martin Coughlan (Star Poker Manager), Brett Carter (Director of Marketing), Michael Colston (Chief Content Creation Officer), and Tanera Nathan (TV Host & Presenter) said “Goodbye” from the Star Sydney for what was expected to be the very last time.
HOWEVER, on May 19th, it was official! The Star Poker Sydney will serve as the battleground for the 2026 WPT AUSTRALIA AND WPT PRIME from the 10th to the 30th of September, and with that, the return of Star Poker’s Leadership Structure.
With the Full Schedule yet to be released, it should be noted that this is the first time both the WPT PRIME & WPT AUSTRALIA take place back to back. Much like previous WPT Tours, the 3 week festival will certainly attract the top talent, both domestic and internationally, with many of the games biggest names marking this as a priority on their yearly calendar for 2026.
The Mike Sexton Cup will also be on display throughout the tournament, with thousands competing for their place and name to be etched into World Poker Tour History, plus a chance to take home their slice of another massive WPT Prize Pool.
Over the past few years, Star Poker has seen it’s fair share of Celebrities take to the felt inside the Premiere Poker Room in New South Wales, and this year will be no different.
The likes of Angel Guillen, Billy “The Croc” Argyros, and Rodrigo Jim have all had great success in recent years. Rest assured they will be back for more in September, alongside many others bringing their best game to the tables.
